One of YaleBoston’s undergraduate Community Service Fellows is interning at the Frederick Law Olmsted National Historic Site this summer and has offered to give Yale alumni (and family and friends) a private tour of the Design Office on Saturday, August 15. One tour will depart at noon and a second will depart at 12:30pm. Please register for the tour you plan to attend and show up at least 15 minutes early to check in and explore the self-guided exhibits. And if you’re keen for more and would like to arrive extra early or stay late, there will be tours of the outside landscape by other staff members at 11:30am and 1:30pm.
We’ll learn about Frederick Law Olmsted – the mastermind of Central Park, the 1893 Chicago’s World’s Fair grounds, and the Emerald Necklace – and hear about the work our Community Service Fellow has undertaken this summer. Whether you’re a history buff, outdoor explorer, park lover, landscape architect, or curious Yalie, come join!
