Help deliver birthday joy to a child currently experiencing the trauma of homelessness. We will create "Birthdays in a Box" for homeless kids to experience a real birthday celebration.
Volunteers will wrap a medium box with festive wrapping and fill it with items that will enable the homeless child to celebrate his/her/their birthday with other children in their homeless shelter.
Birthday Wishes’ mission is to provide birthday parties to children experiencing homelessness. Birthday Wishes believes that all children, regardless of their living situation, should celebrate their birthdays joyfully, surrounded by family, friends, and others who care. You can help make this happen for those children!
We will gather virtually via Zoom on Sunday June 22 to watch a video about Birthday Wishes, get instructions on how to build a Birthday in a Box, and then build our boxes together from the comfort of our own homes.
We will drop off boxes at Birthday Wishes on Tuesday July 1 or you can drop off your completed boxes with Rob Greenly for him to deliver.
**This project involves some upfront shopping on your part. Please be sure to review the instructions and the QC Checklist and buy items from the shopping list before June 22.
