The President’s Cup Golf Tournament, an old tradition of the Yale Club of Boston, has historically been played at the Yale Golf Course. However, the course is currently undergoing a major renovation. We expect to return there in 2026.
This year’s event will take place on Friday, September 19 at the Blackstone National Golf Club in Sutton, MA. In case of rain, the event will take place on September 26.
Blackstone has a strong Yale connection: it was designed by Rees Jones (Yale ’64). Rees Jones has designed more than 140 golf courses, including redesign work at courses that have been the sites for seven US Opens (including the 1988 US Open at The Country Club in Brookline), six PGA Championships and three Ryder Cup competitions. In 1978, he became the youngest president of the American Society of Golf Course Architects, and Golf Digest named him Architect of the Year in 1995. Blackstone is one of the few Massachusetts courses to get a 5-star rating from the New England Golf Guide.
Our tournament is a best ball format, in which a team’s score for a hole is determined by the lowest individual net score. The winning foursome will take home the prestigious President’s Cup, with their names engraved on it, which they will be invited to defend in 2026 at the Yale Golf Course.
The entry fee, which includes greens fees, a cart, lunch and dinner, is $175 for dues-paying members of the Yale Club of Boston and $200 for non-members. Lunch will be available starting at noon and the first tee time will be at 1 pm. Dinner, with a cash bar, will start at 6 pm if possible.
