The Red Sox and Yale, with Red Sox and Hall of Fame Announcer Joe Castiglione

  • Holiday Inn 55 Ariadne Road, Dedham (map)

“Can you believe it?!” We’ve hit a home run. Joe Castiglione, the voice of the Red Sox for 42 years and Hall of Famer, is coming to speak with the Yale Club of Boston on Saturday, September 13!

Many know Joe as one of the most respected voices in sports broadcasting and beloved figures in New England. What many do not know is that he has numerous ties to Yale. He was raised in Hamden, CT, attending many Yale games. His father, uncle and two of his brothers attended Yale, and he would close some broadcasts with a reading from A. Bartlett Giamatti ’60 PhD’64, former Commissioner of Baseball and President of Yale University.  And there are multiple Yalies at the Red Sox who overlapped with Joe, including General Manager Theo Epstein ’95, General Manager and Pitcher Craig Breslow ’02, and Catcher Ryan Lavarnway ’09, to name a few.

Whether you’re a longtime Red Sox fan or enjoy hearing from inspiring figures, this is a lunch and discussion you won’t want to miss. Bring your questions!

Attire is casual; Red Sox gear is encouraged. Parking is available on site. The Holiday Inn is also a short walk from the MBTA’s Franklin/Foxboro commuter rail (Dedham Corporate Center Station stop).

Tickets are $49 per person for dues-paying members and $59 for non-members.  Please register by  Friday, August 29.
