Savor Salem: Waterfront Walking Tour and Drinks & Bites Gathering

  • Salem Wharf 10 Blaney Street, Salem (map)

Join us on Salem’s storied waterfront to enjoy a blend of history, local flavor and great company. This Yale Club event begins with an hour-long guided walking tour of a dozen iconic and off-the-radar sites in Salem — from the Friendship tall ship and the Derby Wharf and Lighthouse to the House of the Seven Gables and the Collins Cove Sculpture Park — led by Michael Cusick BK’76, a Salem resident, blog writer, and amateur historian.

The walking tour will depart from the Salem Wharf ticket booth at 10:30 am. After the tour, from 11:30 am – 1 pm, we’ll enjoy an optional gathering at Maitland Farm, Kitchen & Spirits, a new restaurant at the tour’s endpoint offering seasonal small plates, house-made pickles and craft cocktails in a relaxed setting. Attendees will cover their own food and drink at the restaurant.

Children 8 years and older are welcome with an adult (pets, other than service animals, are not permitted).  The event will be held rain or shine; if severe weather is predicted, attendees will be notified of a cancellation at 7:30 am.

Parking is available at the Ferry Wharf and Derby Street parking garages.  Salem Wharf is also accessible via the Salem Ferry from Boston’s Long Wharf, or the MBTA’s Commuter Rail, Newburyport/Rockport Line, to Salem Station.

Tickets are $5 for dues-paying members of the Yale Club of Boston and $15 for non-members.

Ticket sales will close on Wednesday, September 3.  Please note:  when you register, kindly indicate whether you plan to join us at the restaurant after the tour.  Tickets for this event are limited; if they have sold out and you would like to attend, please contact us at events@yaleboston.org to be added to a waiting list.
