The Head of the Charles Regatta is happening soon! On Sunday, October 19, five Yale boats will be competing in three collegiate races. According to Regatta Central, here is the schedule of races in which Yale has registered boats:
· 2:45 pm: Women’s Championship Eights (two boats)
· 3:24 pm: Men’s Championship Eights (two boats)
· 3:36 pm: Men’s Lightweight Eights (one boat)
Let’s cheer for the Yale crews together! A group from the club will be holding a casual potluck-style picnic with our tent by the river between the Anderson Memorial Bridge (at JFK Street) and the Weeks Footbridgen (map), on the Cambridge side, from 2-4pm. You'll also be able to find us by looking out for the Yale banner we'll be flying, plus all the Yale gear we'll be wearing. This year, we’ll have a strong group of past coxswains, rowers, and team alumni to cheer our Yalies on in the spirit of camaraderie that the Head of the Charles represents.
The location is about a 15-minute walk from Harvard Square. Parking will be tight in Cambridge; we strongly recommend arriving on foot. Come wearing your own Yale swag – or buy merchandise on sale at the event – bring a chair or a blanket and snacks (cookies/chips/fruit, etc.) to share at the picnic, and watch Yale dominate on the river!
There is no charge to attend, but we would appreciate knowing how many people to expect.
